Pets are often better surgical patients than humans. Following elective surgery they are normally able to return home the same day, and even following major surgery they may be back to normal within a few days Every patient is unique and all procedures and anaesthetic regimes are tailored to both your pets needs and your circumstances. Our high standards of anaesthesia and monitoring ensure the safest possible anaesthetic especially for the very young and elderly and also for the smaller pets such as rabbits and guinea pigs. Except in emergencies we arrange dates and times of admission in advance and give you pre-operative instructions. On the day of the operation your admissions nurse will be happy to discuss any concerns you may have and will arrange a time for you to ring for an update. You can normally collect your pet the same afternoon. If your pet needs to stay with us longer you will be able to come in and visit, the only exception to this is for pets in the isolation ward. Your assigned nurse will be able to give you updates throughout your pet's stay and full instructions on collection, as well as advice on homecare. We ask that you return for one or two post-operative checkups which are included in the price. Estimates are given with all admissions.
