Arthritis...a brief explanation
Arthritis can affect one or more
joints and these can become inflamed and painful as your pet becomes
older. Arthritis never goes away
and tends to slowly worsen. If left untreated, this can make your pets
life uncomfortable.
Recognising the Signs:
v
Difficulty
getting up after rest or in the morning
v
Difficulty
climbing stairs or getting into a car
v
Reduced
exercise tolerance
v
Lameness
v
Less
playful and reduced activity
If you think your pet is showing signs of arthritis,
then we can help him with our three point treatment plan:
1. Weight control. Carrying excess
weight puts extra strain on those joints. With our weight clinics, we can
help keep that weight off
2. Exercise control. Beneficial exercise
should be controlled, gentle, pain free and fun
3. Medication. Both supplements and
medication are available to help reduce inflammation and relieve any
discomfort.
We are offering FREE Arthritis Checks throughout November.
Your pet will receive a full general health
assessment and from this we can advise you on ways to ease your pet
gracefully into his senior years.
